Most Little Tikes Toys, Made in the USA

A brand many moms and dads have come to know and love, is mostly made right here in the USA. If you're thinking of a playhouse, toddler bed or a mini coupe for your child, Little Tikes may be the right choice for you. While some of their products are not made in the USA, they maintain a large selection of toys made here that are very high quality and still a good value. The following products are just some that are made in the USA:

China is not solely to blame, however, it is the common thread and the easiest identifier (Made in China) to avoid while toy shopping. I think there is much to come on the topic of toy safety and there will be plenty of blame to go around.

In the meantime, it's Buyer Beware - so be smart when you are toy shopping. I found an excellent site where you can search for all these toy recalls IN ONE PLACE: www.RecalledToyAlert.com.

You can also register to get the recall alerts e-mailed directly to you as they are announced.

They also have a link to a Facebook application for all the Facebook users out there: http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=9311057039

Hope it's helpful!

We actually don't believe that China is to blame at all- they are making products for American companies who are not testing appropriately. However with more than 80% of the US toy market coming from China and nearly all of the lead paint recalls coming from China, it makes a quick identifier.

You can get recalled toy alerts emailed directly from the Consumer Product Safety Commission at

I live in France and just wanted let you know that you don't have to limit yourself to toys made in USA. There are many great high-quality toys (notably wooden toys) made in Europe (Germany, Austria, France) e.g., Vilac, Haba, Janod, Vulli brands. Many of these toys are sold by US online stores.
