Aqua Dots contain dangerous drug!

We generally reserve this column for great toys but this is really important and deserves it's own notation.

Millions of Aqua Dots toys and sets sold in the US contain an ingredient that converts to a powerful "date-rape" drug when ingested. Two US children have gone into unresponsive comas (though have now recovered) and 3 others have been hospitalized in Australia. If you have these products, please take them away immediately, even if your child no longer puts things in his/her mouth.

Visit the recall from the CPSC for more information.

Do you have any information on Fimo (the modeling clay you harden in the oven)?

I love this listing. Would you be willing to list our site? We're not a huge company, but my husband makes one-of-a-kind toy barns from 100% reclaimed barn wood. They are unfinished. We also include the history of the barn and the wood, when we can find it, in a little booklet with each barn. Let me know what you think.

Sure! Based on your website, it looks like all of your products are made in the USA correct?

We just had these recalled here in Australia. They are called "Bindeez" here and several children have been hospitalized.

Could you do a post about toys that may be comparable to the popular ones for this Christmas? I have quite a few ideas for my kids (4,almost 3, and 8 months) but now would like to see some non-China made alternatives.

You may want to check out our posts on toys under $30. While there are some comparable toys, most electronics etc are manufactured in China and do not have adequate replacements.

We are working on a series of top 10 toys for Christmas that should be out by the middle of the week. It won't be the same as substitutes for say a Parents Magazine list- but it'll still be great!

Yes. We just have the two styles of barn right now, but have plans to add more. You can't get much more "American". They are made from cork pine (300 years old when they cut it down) and the barn was 122 years old. That makes the wood over 400 years old. It was here long before we were. lol
